THE RUN OF A SOLDIER

The basic idea of the picture was to show the devastation of a soldier and his struggle at war without ever losing his beauty which is a parable for his hope.

I find it important to use the patterns of war while not glorifying it nor denying its huge impact on us. We fight some kind of battle every day even if it is within ourselves.

Our task was to communicate the drama of fighting and being in peace afterwards. Furthermore, it was important to us not to show what or whom he is fighting. It remains unclear if the soldier died or if he is waiting to be picked up.

To work with Daniel and his team was an incredible experience. I was impressed of the outcome, especially how little effort he needed to create such impressive pictures.
